About these terms
These terms govern your use of the catholicsex.com service, provided by the administrator of the catholicsex.com service. By creating an account you agree to them. Questions go to [email protected].
What the service is
CatholicSex is a members platform with lessons, courses, guided programs, a source cited assistant, live expert Q&A and private consultations about sex, intimacy and marriage in the light of Catholic teaching. Public articles are free to read. One demo question per day is free to try. Everything else is part of a paid plan.
The assistant is not a priest, doctor or therapist
Ask with Sources answers only from Church documents in our verified library and shows the source of every doctrinal statement. It does not replace confession, spiritual direction, medical care or therapy. Follow the advice of your confessor and your doctor. If you are in danger or experiencing abuse, contact local emergency services right away.
Your account
- You must be an adult and give a working email address, which you confirm with a 6 digit code.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Membership and Couples Program plans include two logins for one married or engaged couple.
Plans and billing
- Plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel renewal at any time in Billing. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- When you move to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly billing, the prorated difference is charged right away and the new plan starts once it is paid. A move to a lower plan takes effect at the next renewal.
- Payments for a started period are not refunded, except where consumer law gives you a right to a refund.
- One payer holds one subscription. A second subscription for the same account or couple is not possible.
Usage limits
Each plan includes the questions, consultations and parish enrollments listed on the pricing page for each billing period. Limits count what you use in the period, so deleting a conversation does not give questions back. Unused allowance does not carry over.
Parish plans
A parish coordinator may invite engaged couples and staff by email and is responsible for having their agreement to be invited. Couples control their own accounts and can leave the parish program at any time.
Acceptable use
- Do not request or post sexually explicit material. The service teaches; it does not depict.
- Do not harass experts or other members, and do not share other people's personal data in questions.
- Do not copy the library in bulk, scrape the service or try to get around usage limits.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Content and sources
Lessons and courses are ours and are licensed to you for personal use while your plan is active. Quotations from Church documents are short, always referenced and linked to the publisher of the full text. How we choose and cite sources is described in our doctrine and sources policy.
Liability
We work hard to keep the service accurate and available, but we provide it as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions you make based on general educational content. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law.
Changes
We may update these terms. We tell account holders by email about important changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
