What we collect, why we collect it and how you stay in control of your data.

Last updated October 11, 2026

Who is responsible for your data

Your personal data is controlled by the administrator of the catholicsex.com service. You can reach the administrator at [email protected] about anything in this policy.

What we collect

  • Account data, your email address, an encrypted password, an optional name and the 6 digit code we send to confirm your email.
  • Questions and answers, the questions you ask Ask with Sources, the answers and the sources shown with them, the topic and life stage you choose.
  • Learning data, lessons, courses and programs you open or complete, notes you save in your couple space, questions you submit for live Q&A.
  • Consultation data, the time you book and the topic you choose for a private consultation.
  • Parish data, for parish plans, the names and email addresses of staff and of couples a coordinator invites, and their completion records.
  • Billing data, your plan, billing period and payment status. Card details are entered on the payment operator page and never reach our servers.
  • Technical data, IP address, browser type and request logs, used for security and to enforce the one free demo question per day.

Questions about intimacy are sensitive data

A question about sex, fertility or faith can reveal information about your sex life, your health and your religious beliefs. We process it only to answer you, on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give by submitting the question. You can delete a conversation at any time, and you can withdraw consent by deleting your account. We never sell this data and never use it for advertising.

Why we use your data

  • To create your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
  • To answer your questions with sources and show your history.
  • To provide lessons, courses, programs, live Q&A and consultations included in your plan.
  • To process subscriptions, issue receipts and meet tax and accounting duties.
  • To send service emails, such as your confirmation code, receipts and booking reminders.

Who receives data

We share only what each recipient needs, with these categories of service providers acting on our instructions.

  • A hosting provider in the EU that stores the application and database.
  • A payment operator that processes subscription payments.
  • An email delivery provider that sends service emails.
  • An AI model provider that receives the text of a question together with the retrieved Church document passages, without your name or email address, and returns the drafted answer.
  • A video meeting provider used for private consultations and live Q&A.
  • The counselor or instructor you book, who sees your first name and the topic you choose.

If a parish gives you access, the parish coordinator sees your name, email address and module completion. The coordinator never sees your questions or answers.

How long we keep data

We keep account data while your account exists. Conversations stay until you delete them or your account. Billing records are kept for as long as tax law requires. Security logs are kept only as long as needed to protect the service.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies, a session cookie that keeps you signed in, a security token that protects forms and a cookie that remembers simple preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, so there is nothing to accept or decline.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, restrict or object to processing and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this is available in your account settings. For anything else, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

Adults only

The service is intended for adults preparing for or living in marriage. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data, we update this page and the date above, and we tell account holders by email about important changes.
